An underground box-type substation refers to a complete set of equipment installed inside a fully sealed enclosure, with the entire unit located below ground level. Its internal equipment is the same as that of an above-ground box-type substation. It receives a 10 kV input voltage, which is stepped down by a transformer to a 400/220 V distribution voltage and then supplied to the load points. It can be used in ring network distribution systems or as a substation for terminal power supply in radial distribution networks. This fully underground type is also known as an underground substation. Its enclosure features excellent corrosion resistance, high compressive strength, and complete sealing performance.
